Rick Rakestraw’s Jungle Adventure Show was at BES today. He taught our students about some amazing animals from all over the world. From monkeys to snakes his show had it all. The kids loved seeing the animals and learning more about these beautiful creatures. Thank you Mr. Rakestraw for being with us today.

Storyteller visits BES

The students had so much fun during the performance by
storyteller, Tracy Walker, this past week. Thank you to our amazing RSVP members for providing the show for our students this year.

A special thanks to our awesome PTO for providing our faculty and staff with a delicious lunch, thoughtful goodie bag, and a relaxing mini-massage for Teacher Appreciation Week. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful group of parents involved in our PTO.

State of Alabama Summer Reading Challenge

Strong reading and math skills are essential to a student’s success in school and life. It is

important that we use all the resources available to help build and improve our students’

skills of these subjects. For Alabama’s students, summer is a time of fun, but those months

away from school can result in a loss of previously learned skills in both math and reading.

The Summer Learning Challenge encourages students to pledge to read five to eight books

selected from a personalized reading list and to actively engage in math practice every day

for a portion of the summer.

Please use the resources below along with public libraries within our community to access engaging resources for the Summer Reading Challenge.

Boaz City School System raised over $10,000 for Relay for Life. Thank you to everyone who participated in our fundraiser events.

BES planted a beautiful Sun Valley Maple tree today in       memory of Janie Clemons. Mrs. Clemons was the counselor at BES for many years and sadly lost the battle to cancer in 2013. She was loved by so many in our school and community and she is missed everyday. We hope this tree will serve as a special reminder to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her to always be kind, show compassion, and love one another as she did all of us. A special thanks to Packs Nursery for donating the tree to our school.
Some of our students and Mrs. Samples sending love to Mrs. Clemons.

Thank you Boaz Intermediate School Choir for coming to perform for us today. You did a fantastic job!
