Mrs. Lizeth Zurita
Mrs. Lizeth Zurita is the 1st grade ELL teacher at Boaz Elementary School. She is a 2016 graduate of Boaz High School. Lizeth graduated from Jacksonville State University in the fall of 2022. At Jacksonville State University, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education. Ms. Lizeth enjoys traveling to Mexico to visit her family, going to the beach, and spending time with her husband, family, and dogs.
Ms. Karen Ortega Colin
Karen Ortega Colin is the Kindergarten ELL teacher at Boaz Elementary School. She is a 2015 graduate of Douglas High School. She has worked in education since 2016. She graduated from Athens State University in the spring of 2024. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is a first generation college graduate and is very happy to be working at BES. She enjoys traveling, Formula 1 racing, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family.
