PreK, Kindergarten, & 1st grade students come to the BES library every week for a 30 minute library class. In addition, the library is open each morning for students to exchange their library books. During library classes, students learn age-appropriate literacy & information skills to foster a love for reading, engage in inquiry & research, & utilize technology resources. Students enjoy the library's makerspace learning centers, as they investigate, explore, & collaborate with each other. The librarian works closely with each grade level to ensure that teachers have diverse & culturally-relevant library resources that coordinate with their units of study to support academic standards.

The BES library incorporates the Alabama Guidelines For Exemplary School Libraries into library lessons. The library follows the Boaz City Schools Library Operations and Procedure Manual. Students are expected to abide by behavior standards set forth in the Boaz City Schools Student Handbook.
