Our School
Boaz Elementary School serves students in PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. The faculty and staff provide students with opportunities to develop foundational skills and knowledge. Boaz Elementary School strives to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
Boaz Elementary School develops partnerships between teachers, students, parents, staff, and community members. We strive to meet the needs of our students and to support families and our community. It is our desire to develop a growth mindset in all students so they can become lifelong learners and grow up to be resourceful members of the community.
About BES
- BES doors open at 7:00 am each morning. Students not in their classrooms by 7:40 am are considered tardy.
- All students are dismissed beginning at 2:35 pm for bus riders, car riders, and extended day.
- Car line begins at 2:35 pm and finishes by 2:55 pm. Parents, please be on time to pick up your child.
- If a change needs to be made in how a child needs to go home, please contact the school office by 1:00 pm.
- Students should not be checked out after 2:10 pm unless it is absolutely necessary. An early checkout is considered a tardy.
- Student breakfast is free for everyone. It is served in the classrooms each morning.
- Student lunch is free for everyone for the 2024-2025 school year.
- Student snack costs $0.50 for water and $0.50 for a snack.
- BES is a tobacco-free property. We ask that you please do not use tobacco products on campus, including car line.
- Firearms are prohibited on the BES campus.
- BES has over 60 faculty members who serve approximately 500 students in PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade.
- BES has 6 grant-based Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education PreK classes.
- BES has received an Early Learning Continuum Grant to support play-based learning in 11 Kindergarten and 12 1st grade classrooms.
- BES students participate in a physical education class each day.
- BES students participate in music, library, and guidance classes each week.
- BES supports students who benefit from speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, English Language Learners, reading intervention, and Special Education resources.
- BES faculty is trained in Conscious Discipline and Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS).
- BES has 9 National Board Certified Teachers.
